Zero Waste Scarf

Deciding how to use the scraps of fabric that Tabitha brought to our class was the first challenge. On top of coming up with a design, we had to adhere to the aesthetic of zero waste that Tabitha set for her sustainable womenswear company, Tabii Just. We decided on a scarf in part because the size of the pieces of material we chose were similar in that they were long and narrow. Two complementary pieces of fabric worked well for a two layer/reversible scarf and we had Tabitha’s professional grade sewing machine to sew them together. We liked adding a bit a whimsy with ball fringe trim.
